LA NUOVA VIA DELLA SETA AEROSPAZIALE: La Cina sfida il monopolio occidentale

From exercises in Qatar to global co‑production agreements: China’s geopolitical and commercial offensive to build a defence ecosystem alternative to the West’s     In mid‑May 2026, Chinese state broadcaster CCTV aired a report destined to draw the attention of international defence analysts. In the segment, later picked up by Asian media and the Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) community, Beijing claimed that the Chengdu J‑10CE fighter had achieved a “9‑0” result against an unspecified “advanced European aircraft”, comprising five close‑range dogfights and four beyond‑visual‑range (BVR) engagements .   Although the Chinese state network did not officially name the countries involved, most OSINT analysts linked the report to the “Zilzal‑II” bilateral exercise held over Qatar in January 2024, between Pakistan Air Force (PAF) J‑10CEs and Qatar Emiri Air Force (QEAF) Eurofighter Typhoons. Tragedy in Hong Kong: Boeing 747 Runway Excursion and the Loss of Two Human Lives

A dramatic aviation accident has shaken the international airport community and public opinion, drawing attention to safety during the crucial landing phase. Late Sunday evening (CET), a Boeing 747-400 cargo plane overran the runway at Hong Kong International Airport (HKG), partially plunging into the sea after a devastating impact.

While the four members of the cargo plane's crew were fortunately rescued, the incident had a tragic outcome for two young ground service employees, aged 30 and 41. Our first words must be ones of deep and sincere condolences for their loss. They were workers performing their duties, and their tragic fate reminds us of the vulnerability of those who operate on the ground near the runways. We stand with their families and colleagues during this time of unimaginable pain.

The Dynamics of the Event

The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, October 20, 2025, local time. The aircraft, a Boeing 747-481 BDSF (Flight EK9788 operated by ACT Airlines on behalf of Emirates SkyCargo), arriving from Dubai, failed to stop in time on the airport's North Runway. It overran the runway, skidded towards the adjacent area, and violently struck an airport security vehicle, dragging it into the sea. The plane itself broke into two sections, floating on the water.

The Call for Safety

The precise causes that led the plane off the runway are currently under investigation by the relevant authorities. All possible factors will be evaluated, from potential human error and meteorological conditions (despite initial reports indicating good conditions) to possible technical malfunctions.

We are confident that the aviation authorities will conduct rigorous investigations and that, if the analysis of the dynamics reveals ways to prevent such tragedies from recurring, all necessary steps will be taken to reinforce safety procedures. The loss of these two young lives, who died while working, must serve as a solemn warning to the entire sector.

Aviation safety is an ongoing commitment, and we hope this tragic event leads to reviews and improvements, particularly concerning the management of areas adjacent to runways, so that incidents of this kind never again take innocent human lives.
